First Passage

Flickering candles line the walls far into the distance. The constant twisting of the flames in a draft emanating from you know not where causes strange movements at the edge of the light.

You walk slowly forward, your steps echoing as you make your way further into this strange place. You walk for a long time, eventually beginning to suspect you may be walking in a circle, so perfectly does the passage before you match the passage behind.

After what could have been hours, you finally notice a change. There are a few papers hanging on the wall to the left, underneath one of the candles. The ink is smudged, and you cannot read anything beyond the single large “NOTICE” scrawled atop each page. A few minutes further walk down the passage, and a door lies to your left.

Before you can examine it further, a flickering further down the passageway catches your eye.
